I chose Maria Phillips MUA to be our make-up artist for my wedding. Having looked at her portfolio and seeing that she was based locally, I knew that she was the right choice for us. I made initial contact and enquired about providing make-up looks for myself, my Mum, my three bridesmaids, plus to do the hair for my flower girl. Right from the off Maria responded promptly, provided a quote, asked about any allergies or skin sensitivities and what the overall theme/ looks we were going for. It was suggested we find pictures of make-up looks we liked as a starting point to work from.
Maria asked if we wanted trials before the day and a discount was provided as we all took our trials on the same day (day after my hen do)
Maria arrived on time, looking incredible, so friendly and so professional but made you feel so relaxed. She consulted with each of us one at a time to create looks that suited our skin tones/ types and colour scheme and spent time taking photos to ensure she could recreate our looks on the morning of the big day. We chose to settle full payment on the day of our trial. In between the trial date and the day itself, Maria stayed in touch to reassure us we could change anything leading up to and even on the day itself if required.
Maria liaised with our hairstylist too as our venue had minimal parking. They arranged to car share. Maria picked our hairstylist up on the way through. Talk about going over and above.
The morning of, Maria had arrived and set up before I had even surfaced. As I came down the stairs she was busy with one of my bridesmaids in the make-up chair, airbrush at the ready. The dress she wore was stunning and she looked part of the bridal party. Maria was in such a happy, smiley mood and had everyone in fits of giggles sharing little anecdotes and stories. Maria allowed plenty of time for everyone’s make-up, and our flower girl’s hair-do, complimentary glitter and gloss. She made us all feel very pampered and calm (whilst keeping the job in hand at the forefront of her approach at all times.) Maria made sure we were all happy with our make-up in different lights and then allowed time for quick touch ups before photos. Maria even gave us a little touch-up sponge and a couple of handy tips for throughout the day.
We all commented on how well our make-up lasted throughout a sweaty, tearful day. Plenty of comments from guests on how lovely we all looked and the results in the photos were incredible. (Maria uses a special photo cream and setting spray) I have never looked so good. I wish I could hire Maria to be my personal make-up artist everyday. Plus Maria was so lovely to have around whilst getting ready- just like having another one of the girls with me.

Creative, communicative and calming. These are the traits one should look for when it comes to choosing their bridal makeup artist, and these are the very qualities that MUA Maria Phillips possesses. This is why I would recommend her to anyone, hands down, as the best makeup artist in the Herefordshire/ Gloucestershire region. Maria did my bridal makeup for my wedding in July. She also did the makeup for my mother and two bridesmaids. I was very fortunate to have Maria in charge of my makeup and hair for my big day; right from the get-go, she is a friendly, approachable, and professional, and I felt she really understood my personal style. As someone who prefers a more understated, yet elegant and etherial look, I was quite wary of experimenting with contemporary wedding makeup trends. Meeting Maria at my trial put an end to any worries that I may have had. Her expertise in airbase HD-makeup works wonders! On my big day itself, Maria (along with her hair specialist, Hannah) arrived very promptly (soon after dawn) and began to 'sprinkle magic' upon us. My wedding took place at Hampton Court Castle, so we went with a fairytale theme. This, as you can imagine, would be difficult to maintain on July 15th, which was the hottest day of the year! But thanks to Maria's prowess, my makeup did not budge an inch, even after the 12-hour celebration! As such, I can safely say, Maria was no less than a fairy-godmother (to fit with my wedding theme ;)). It was an absolute pleasure to have Maria Knight taking care of both my hair and makeup styles on my wedding day. I could not recommend her enough!

Maria did my hair and make up for my wedding day. She also did hair and make up for 4 of my bridesmaids. Maria is SUCH a professional; from first contact to the day of the wedding, she was so receptive to my ideas and adaptable to my bridesmaids different needs and looks - even when ideas changed along the way. I'm such a perfectionist, it's rare for someone to create the look I had imagined, but Maria did it! My bridesmaids and I have never felt so beautiful, and her calm and easy going manner meant the wedding morning was ridiculously chilled, despite 6 women getting ready in one house! Would definitely recommend Maria and I would certainly have her to do my hair and make up again for an occasion. I wish I could have her to get ready every morning! She's fab! x

She was friendly, professional and even put up with my incessant messages and photos of ideas! During the trial, Maria listened and shared the process with me at each step, asking whether I was happy with the look, or if I would like more coverage. As well as this, she also put forward her professional opinion, but it was clear that the final decision rested with me. Something which I hadn't experienced previously. On the morning of the wedding, Maria arrived early (before me and the bridesmaids!) and was set up and ready to go. She got to work straight away, seamlessly working her magic on my 4 bridesmaids and my mum. Everyone commented on her friendly and calming nature as well as her professionalism and were blown away by the results. Everyone looked stunning! As well as make up, Maria also created hairstyles for me and my chief bridesmaid. The results were also fantastic. The make up lasted well into the night and was still in place the next morning! A credit to her excellent work and use of high quality products. I would definitely recommend her without a doubt and I will most certainly be using her again if I ever need to look fabulous! I wish I could rate her higher than 5 stars!!

Maria did my make-up for myself 5 bridesmaids and mother of the bride. She was absolutely fabulous! Not only was the make-up to die for but she really was a lovely influence on the wedding party - settling our wedding morning nerves. I knew what i wanted for my make-up and she perfected it first time at the trial. All my bridesmaids loved their make-up as Maria let them choose the style to suit them which was very important to me. Maria went above and beyond on the wedding day helping my mum with her corsage, me with my dress, top tip of how to stop tears, and even painting my toe nails!! I cannot thank Maria enough as she really helped make my wedding morning so special.

Maria is absolutely fantastic. Maria did wedding hair and make up for myself and a bride recently and neither of us could be more pleased. Neither of us were sure what we wanted but Maria was full of suggestions and created a look we were thrilled with. Maria makes me look and feel fabulous! Manicures look great weeks and her gel pedicures make my toes sparkle for months! Her microdermabrasion makes my face tingle and shed 10 years, and the facial pamper makes me purr and want to drift off to sleep. And the airbase makeup is a total revelation! For special occasions, or for significant days of your life, Maria’s touch really does ‘sprinkle magic’ over how you look and feel! Highly recommended!
